Hello, I’m Ulrike Reimann, founder of Emotionskultur.

Emotionskultur was founded 2007, born from a partnership with Marijana Grsak with a shared goal:
"To educate people and society by reclaiming emotional expression.”

We began with ambitious goals, visions, and a mutual passion for working with people and projects in the Balkans.

Since 2013, I have continued to lead Emotionskultur, collaborating with skilled facilitators, trainers, coaches, and therapists who share the spirit of this work.

My personal journey reflects the core approaches in my work.

Growing up in Jena, Thuringia, I lived and worked in the Balkan countries during the post-war period and studied intercultural pedagogy. From the beginning, I’ve been intrigued by how people cope with pain, loss, and divisions, what ‘home’ means, and how belonging and community are formed.

I worked as an integration advisor in Vienna, co-founded a summer school in Montenegro, and engaged with groups and organisations focused on reconciliation work.

Since 2007, I have been self-employed as a trainer, consultant, process facilitator, and coach, focusing on topics that move me and seem significant to the time and place we live in. Over the past decade, I’ve helped numerous projects and teams realise their visions of a meaningful and healthy life or workplace.

During this time, I also witnessed many teams and projects, with all their great ideas, come to a standstill. This experience sparked my interest in tools and approaches—especially their practical, effective use—that truly help create learning projects and teams.

I am fascinated by what individuals and teams tend to exclude: topics, opinions, emotions, and conflicts that are suppressed or marginalised. I’m interested in how to use these disruptive elements for the greater good.

With all my experience over the years, my focus has been on the processes and conditions that lead to change. I seek to understand how sustainable learning happens, how a door opens in a complex situation, and when it's necessary to acknowledge an ending rather than pushing for the continuation of a group or project.

Being able to read the signs better has enabled me to guide others on their path..
